Knightscope K5

Autonomous 24/7 Security Patrol for Campuses, Parking Structures, and Public Spaces

The Knightscope K5 patrols independently around the clock, covering indoor and outdoor environments with 360-degree 4K video, thermal imaging, LiDAR, and real-time alert capability. It operates continuously without staff involvement, returning to its charging station and resuming patrol on its own.

Built for Continuous Autonomous Patrol Without Gaps or Fatigue

The Knightscope K5 is a fully autonomous security patrol robot built for indoor and outdoor deployment across corporate campuses, parking structures, hospitals, transit hubs, and public spaces. It patrols a defined area continuously, autonomously returning to its docking station when battery is low and resuming patrol once recharged, with no human involvement required at any stage. Its 5th generation design incorporates 4K cameras at near eye-level height, upgraded audio for broadcast and intercom, thermal imaging, 6 LiDAR sensors, and 13 sonar sensors for comprehensive environmental awareness. Through HelloGard Intelligence, K5 patrol activity is visible alongside fixed surveillance units, delivery robots, and cleaning systems operating in the same facility, giving security and operations teams one unified dashboard across every robot type and vendor on site.

What the K5 Covers That a Staffed Patrol Can't Sustain

01

Continuous Perimeter and Campus Patrol

Cover large outdoor and indoor patrol areas on a continuous loop without scheduling staff for night rounds, weekend coverage, or extended shift patrols

02

Parking Structure and Lot Monitoring

Patrol vehicle areas around the clock with license plate recognition, thermal imaging, and real-time video to detect and log incidents as they occur

03

Incident Detection and Real-Time Alerting

When the K5 detects anomalies including unusual noise, temperature changes, or flagged individuals, it pushes an immediate alert to your security team with live video context

04

High-Visibility Deterrence

The K5's physical presence, lighting, and broadcast capability create visible deterrence in areas where crime or unauthorized access is a concern, reducing incidents through presence alone

Why the K5 Is the Standard for Autonomous Security Patrol

Frame 2085665764 (36).png

Patrols Without Being Told To

The K5 maps its zone, executes its patrol, manages its own battery, and resumes on its own. There is no schedule to manage, no guard to brief, and no gap in coverage between shifts

Frame 2085665764 (37).png

Sees in the Dark and Through Heat

Thermal imaging and zero-light camera capability means the K5 is as effective at 3am as it is at midday. Heat signatures and concealed individuals do not go undetected because of lighting conditions

A Visible Security Presence

The K5's size, lighting, and audio capability make it a deterrent before any incident occurs. Its presence in a parking lot, campus perimeter, or public area signals active monitoring in a way that fixed cameras do not

2.5 Million Operational Hours of Field Experience

The 5th generation K5 is informed by over 2.5 million hours of real-world patrol operation, with hardware, sensors, and software updated based on what has been learned in active deployment environments

What 2.5 Million Patrol Hours Taught the K5 to Do

360-Degree 4K Video at Near Eye-Level

Four cameras with daylight, low-light, and zero-light capability provide complete visual coverage with no blind spots across the entire patrol zone

Thermal Imaging

Detects heat signatures, concealed individuals in darkness, recently driven vehicles, and environmental temperature anomalies in real time

6 LiDAR and 13 Sonar Sensors

A full sensor array maps the environment, detects obstacles, and enables precise autonomous navigation across flat indoor and outdoor surfaces up to 20 percent grade

Automatic License Plate Recognition

Logs and flags vehicle plates during patrol, supporting access control, incident investigation, and parking enforcement

Audio Broadcast and Two-Way Intercom

The K5 can broadcast pre-recorded messages, deliver text-to-speech announcements, or connect directly to a person in its patrol zone through a two-way intercom

Fully Autonomous Recharging and Resumption

When battery is low the K5 returns to its docking station, recharges, and resumes patrol without any staff involvement, maintaining continuous coverage across the full 24-hour cycle
